The Auckland Anglican Māori Club is the oldest surviving haka group in Auckland. Last night the spiritual talisman of the National Kapahaka Competition was transferred into their care at The Holy Sepulchre Church as the stone is shared amongst the marae of Auckland ahead of Te Matatini 2021.

This year the Ngāi Te Rangi descendants from the islands in Tauranga Moana will be putting their first competitive team into the Mātaatua regionals, Te Paringa Tai.  Located in the Bay of Plenty region of Aotearoa, the members of this haka team affiliate to the islands of Matakana and Rangiwaea, situated in the harbour of Tauranga.
